We had the pleasure of working with Suzanne Slob who gave us their time to inform us on the successes and achievements made by the Netherlands Women’s Division to date.
In their quest for ultimate triumph, the Netherlands Women’s team is setting their sights on nothing less than gold at the European Ultimate Championships 2023. With a mix of experienced players and exciting newcomers, they are ready to make their mark on the international stage.
While the Women’s division in the Netherlands is still evolving, there is great promise on the horizon. After securing silver during the indoor season, the team has shifted their focus to the lush green fields of Ireland. Although some players are more accustomed to the mixed division, they are building connections and forging a strong bond as a dedicated women’s outdoor team.
A defining moment for the team came during a spirited match against the Belgium Women’s team in March 2023. Both teams showed their mettle, each securing a victory. This led to the much-anticipated follow-up match in Leuven to be a thrilling showdown, eagerly awaited by fans and livestream viewers alike!
Preparations for EUC 2023 have been a mix of the good, the bad, and the funny. The final squad was carefully selected from a larger winter team squad, with preparations kicking into high gear during the months leading to the tournament. Brave battles against the elements during windy and rainy training sessions have tested their resolve. As the countdown to the tournament continued, the team was especially excited for the upcoming Tom’s Tourney, a tournament which was crucial in their preparations due to promising intense competition and valuable lessons.
Amidst the anticipation, the Netherlands Women’s team is most looking forward to basking in the beautiful weather of Sunny, Sunny Limerick. The prospect of winning matches and bringing home the coveted gold medal naturally adds to the excitement. They are ready to showcase their skills, fierce determination, and indomitable spirit on the Irish fields.
